BIH contacted HAPI for suggestions for an article about asphalt pavements for the April issues. HAPI suggested that they discuss High-Friction Surface Treatments. HFST is not a new product, but it is something relatively new to highways in Hawaii. It was recently used on the employed at the hairpin curve on the windward side the Pali Highway tunnels.
