“Talk Story with Chris Lubbers” workshop was conducted on the four major islands. The topics covered echoed the materials covered in our Introduction to Modified Asphalt Seminar (click here for additional information). Our first workshop was on Oahu in the HAPI office.
The workshop began with several formal presentations. Jon Young discussed the different asphalt mix types; where the mix produced with a modified asphalt has been used; and possible future uses. Chris Lubbers followed with two presentations: “Modified Asphalts 101” and “SBS Modified Asphalts 101”. Questions were asked during the presentations.
All of the attendees work on airfield paving projects and currently airfield mixes are the majority use of modified asphalts. We hope the attendees found the information provided useful for their jobs.
