September 17, 2014 – 8:30 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. at the Honolulu International Airport Conference Center
FRA has been successfully used at several airports throughout the nation. The goal of this workshop is to introduce the DOT Airports staff, their consultants and others interested persons, to the “just about to be approved” P601 – Fuel Resistant Asphalt (FRA) specifications. The workshop will also discussed modified binders.
HAPI’s mission is to keep you informed of upcoming practices and technologies, and while FRA is not new, the specification is new and is a result of the pilot projects that have been done throughout the nation.
HAPI did an article on FRA for the LTAP newsletter that can be found starting on page 5 at: http://hltap.eng.hawaii.edu/NEWSLETTER/wi13/winter2013.pdf
The seminar will also include an overview of airfield asphalt pavements.
