About 60 members and invited guests attended our lunch meeting on January 17th at Dave & Busters.
The program got started with our executive director Jon Young giving award his appreciation gift of a YETI RAMBLER® 10 oz Lowball and a $10 Starbucks Gift Card. The recipient was Guohui Zhang from the University of Hawaii (LTAP). Jon also gave away a door prize of an Asphalt Institute MS-2 Asphalt Mix Design Methods manual to Rhea Abellanosa of AWP Safety.

Our 2025 HAPI Hall of Fame inductee is the late Richard Gribbin. John Romanowski, Vice President, Jas. W. Glover, Ltd. and Mary Gribbin, Rich’s daughter paid tribute to Rich. John share how he met Rich during a couple of NAPA Annual Meetings and what he has meant not only to Glover, but also to the Hawaii asphalt industry. Mary gave a heartfelt presentation and representation of her father. The attendees really appreciated hearing from a family member.

Our guest speaker was George White, the co-Founder of HAPI member HeadLight, in town from Seattle, Washington on business. HeadLight is working with HDOT on their e-Construction platform that is being utilized to perform contract administration and construction project oversight.
