Annual Tensar Workshop: “Solving Project Challenges Using Geosynthetics”
Tensar and the Hawaii Asphalt Paving Industry (HAPI) invite you to our free technical seminar in Maui on Oct. 23rd and Honolulu on Oct. 24th. We will highlight local projects that used geogrid to solve project challenges.
Topics include:
• Designing pavements to reduce initial cost and extend life
• Pavement maintenance: Extend life of asphalt overlays and trench repairs, by delaying and eliminating reflective cracks
• Construction challenges: Constructing over shallow utilities and challenging subgrades (i.e. soft, expansive, and collapsible soils)
• Drainage: Reduce or eliminate thick expensive drainage layers
• Coastal Erosion: Alleviate scour in channels with a marine mattress system
• Liquefaction Mitigation: Design of stabilized shallow foundations of structures
• Shallow foundations: Design shallow footings over soft soil, calculate bearing capacity and settlement
• Working Platforms: Design safe stabilized working platforms to support heavy equipment such as cranes, piling rigs
• MSE Wall Solutions: Wire-formed retaining wall system
