On January 27, Castle High School conducted their inaugural career day. About 300 students from their Innovation Academy had the opportunity to learn about various careers from the 10 exhibitors.
Our executive director Jon Young and his wife Lynn manned the HAPI table. It was a successful day for HAPI as we had a steady flow of students visiting our table.
The students either played our Paving Train Activity, in which students learn about the various pieces of equipment needed to turn cracked and oxidized pavement into to a smooth riding new asphalt road. Students could also play a game to learn about the different specialties in Civil Engineering. Participants for each activity were entered in a drawing for a $10 Starbucks gift card.
We thanked Mr. Ryan Saito, the organizer for the event, for the opportunity to participate. He thanked HAPI for participating. He will be inviting us back to next year’s career day.
