UH College of Engineering Career Expo, Spring 2025

The University of Hawaii (UH) College of Engineering (COE) Career Expo – Spring 2025 was held on February 20th at the Campus Center. Click here for the Spring ’25 Career Expo Guide.

HAPI was there to spread the word about our asphalt industry and the various career opportunities. Job opportunities at our member companies were shown on a continuous loop video at our table (click here to view the video) In addition, upon learning of a student’s interest, we sometimes escort or direct them to the appropriate member’s table.

HAPI provides the following services for members not participating the event.:

We can let students know that your company can be contacted during the event. Just provide us with a contact person’s name and number for your company. The contact person simply needs to be available for a call from 12:00 to 4:00 p.m. on that day. We will let students know they can call during the event if they have any questions about your company.
We can make your business card available at our table.

To attract students to our table we had a game that offered a chance to win a $25 gift card. The students could picked from a pool of nine questions about their university and the asphalt paving industry. If the student answer it correctly, they were entered into a drawing for the gift card. The recipient of the gift card is Erika Baguio.

One of the nine questions: For the City and County of Honolulu, a lane mile is one mile long by how wide?
– The total width of all lanes going in the same direction

– 12 feet

In summary, the event provided students with the opportunity to explore careers in both private industry and government.
