Executive Director Jon Young, along with several HAPI members, attended the GCA Construction update dinner held at the Pomaikai Ballrooms in Dole Cannery on October 20. Presentations were made by Honolulu Board of Water Supply (BWS), US Army Corps of Engineers (USACE), Honolulu Authority for Rapid Transportation (HART), Department of Education (NAVFAC), and the University of Hawaii (UH).
Highlights:
BWS: Presented their major upcoming projects and shared that they are working on a 30-year CIP, final report, financial plan, rate study.
USACE: Described their organization and discussed upcoming projects. Cautioned newbies to working with USACE to allow for more administrative work needed.
HART: Provided the work to date and work going forward; discussed the finances of the project.
NAVFAC: Explained their organizational structure, upcoming projects, and how projects are funded.
UH: Discussed their budget and how projects are prioritized.
