SSI produces test equipment to measure the surface characteristics of roads, bridges, airports and sidewalks. Attributes measured include longitudinal profile (IRI, localized roughness), cross-slope, rutting and 3-D point clouds.
– SSI’s CS9100/CS9300 high speed inertial profiling systems feature the new zero-speed option (collect at any speed and through vehicle stoppages).
– The CS9500 is a full-lane scanner and mobile 3D surveying system (supporting corrected GPS and control merge).
– The CS8800 series of walking profilers measure FF/FL, ADA access criteria and IRI.
– The California profilograph is still available.
SSI’s devices output various statistics about pavement condition and support third party applications (e.g. ProVAL, CAD, GIS). With offices in California and Kansas, SSI distributes and supports customers worldwide.
