We were honored to have Ross Sasamura, Director and Chief Engineer, Department of Facility Maintenance, City and County of Honolulu as our guest speaker.
Attendees at our July lunch meeting learned about the road ahead for the City from Ross Sasamura. From budget perspective, it seems the road ahead is about sanitation improvements and not paving improvements. From a general public perspective, it’s about complete streets, green infrastructure, and activated communities.
Ross was joined by our other guests from the City and County of Honolulu:
– Eduardo Manglallan, DFM
– Lan Yoneda, DFM
– Tyler Sugihara, DFM
– Robert Kroning, DDC
– Stanley Katsura, DDC
Other Guests Include:
– Casey Abe, HDOT Highways
– Greg Garcia, HDOT Airports
– Dennis Lopez, HDOT Airports
– Owen Miyamoto, Honolulu Community College
– Ricardo Archilla, University of Hawaii
– Ronson Fox, FAA
Non-members continue to attend our lunch meetings. There was one at this meeting – William Anonsen from The Maritime Group, LLC.
Last, but not least, a couple of visitors from the mainland were also in attendance – Brandon Silva and Tim Pullian from Pavement Management Solutions, Inc.
Sidebar: In what is now a lunch meeting tradition, as a token of appreciation for the support of the members, HAPI Executive Director donated a door prize (Hydro Flask Rocks Tumbler). The lucky winner was Dale Rowley from SealMaster Hawaii.
