HAPI was honored to have Bob Humer, PE., Sr. Regional Engineer (for CA, AZ, NV, OR, WA and HI), Asphalt Institute as the guest speaker at our HAPI lunch meeting attended by about 40 members and invited guests. Since I started as executive director, this was the first meeting presentation that was highly technical in nature. The format was an open question and answer session that covered topics such as mixing and compaction temperatures, the effect of continued absorption on percent air voids, and asphalt cutbacks and emulsions.
