Over the years, our executive director Jon Young has been invited to be a guest lecturer for the University of Hawaii’s College of Engineer.
On October 14th, Jon Young was a guest lecturer for CEE 375 Construction Materials. The lecture is a basic overview of the asphalt paving industry, covering topics that students will encounter in their careers. Just over 30 students were in attendance.
Three days later on October 17th, he was a guest lecturer for CEE 461 Pavement Design. Young’s lecture was about Stone Matrix Asphalt and Open Graded Mixes such as porous asphalt and Open-Graded Friction Course (OGFC). 13 students were in attendance.
HAPI thanks Professor Shin (CEE 375) and Professor Archilla (CEE 461) for inviting Young to present to their students.
