HAPI members have contributed to the success of the City’s repaving program. In 2014, the City and County of Honolulu repaved 305 lane miles of roads, for total of 703 lane miles during the past two years. A majority of this work was done by four HAPI members: Grace Pacific LLC, Jas. W. Glover, Ltd., Road and Highway Builders, LLC, and Road Builders Corporation. Our engineering consultant members have also contributed to this effort.
In addition, the city’s Department of Facility Maintenance, meanwhile, reported patching more than 36,800 potholes in 2014. That is down from a high of 82,850 potholes in 2008.
On December 30, Mayor Caldwell held a press conference in Mililani with Councilmember Ron Menor and Contractor Grace Pacific, announcing that 305 lane miles have been repaved this year alone. Since taking office in January 2013, as mentioned above, Mayor Caldwell’s administration has repaved 703 lane miles of dilapidated roadway across O’ahu.
