Ralph J. Rizzo
Federal Highway Administration
Division Administrator, Hawaii
Ralph Rizzo moved into the Division Administrator position in October of 2016 after serving as Assistant Division Administrator for the Hawaii Division since November of 2014. He leads a team responsible for administering a more than $170 million annual Federal-aid program in the State of Hawaii, and the Pacific Territories of Guam, American Samoa, and the Northern Mariana Islands. Together with a staff of fourteen professionals, he provides leadership and guidance to State and local officials on national transportation program policy and goals in the planning, design, construction and operations of the nation’s highway system.
Ralph has 19 years of experience as a transportation planner, all with the Federal Highway Administration (FHWA). Prior to joining FHWA in 1992, worked for the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency.
He holds a Bachelor of Arts in History, and a Master of Arts in U.S. History, both from the George Washington University in Washington, DC.
