2023 SAPA Summer Meeting

The Annual SAPA Summer Meeting was held in beautiful Park City, Utah at the Silver Baron Lodge during the first week in August. It was a wonderful event that combine group family activities along with the two day business meeting.

Highlights of the 2-day business meeting included:
• Welcome and introductions.
• Erich Ponti (LAPA) approved as treasurer for 2024.
• Women of Asphalt presentation and discussion.
• Rapid fire discussions.
• SAPA business.
• NAPA and AI updates.
• PEC and subcommittee updates.
• SAPAs across America – doing good and feeling good.
• Executive profession development.

Social Activities

On Saturday and Sunday, several of the attendees used the morning to get in a round of golf – Soldier Hollow Golf Course and Wasatch Mountain Golf Course, respectively.

There were several group family activities. Things got started on Friday evening Welcome Reception at hotel patio.

On Saturday, the group enjoyed dinner at the Empire Canyon Dodge. Dinner on Sunday was at the High West Distillery.

Our traditional Monday dinner was held at the Utah Olympic Park. Prior to dinner, the museum was open for viewing. After dinner, we were treated to at Ski Jump show.

As always the spouses/guests enjoyed themselves while the state executives were in their business meeting. On Monday, the group visited the Park City Mountain Resort for a day of hiking, drinks, and a BBQ lunch.

On Tuesday, the group when on a drive-by tour of major sites and then arrived at the Salt Lake Culinary Experience. They prepared and Mexican Fiesta Meal and then enjoyed the fruits of their labor.

2024 Summer Meeting

The SAPAs are looking forward to next year’s meeting in Oregon that is being hosted by their state Asphalt Pavement Association.
