On May 10, 2024, Jon Young visited HAPI member Sakai America, Inc. factory in Adairsville, Georgia. The day started with a presentation and ended with a demonstration of their Guardman System.
Through a brief presentation, Jon learned about the company’s growth since 1976, including their US factory and rising production numbers. A visual breakdown summarized their asphalt and soil compactor lines with country of production origin (USA or Japan). The company also provided an overview of their extensive North American dealer network. Lastly, a detailed look at the factory layout revealed the impressive step-by-step process behind SAKAI America’s machine production.
A tour of the factory followed the presentation. A behind-the-scenes look at the production process was provided by Brad Belvin of the facility layout, showcasing the land space, building size, assembly line capabilities, and the step-by-step process that brings their rollers to life.
Last, but certainly not least, was a demonstration of the Sakai Guardman – Auto Brake Assist System for Asphalt Rollers. Not only did Jon get to see the system in action, but he also got to drive a roller – that was the highlight of his day. See below for videos and photos.
