Ever wonder on a road in disrepair becomes a newly paved smooth riding road? Students at career events will learn how in a fun activity that provides a chance to win a $25 gift card.
This activity was first introduced at the 2018 Construction Career Day (CCD) event conducted on September 21 on the campus of Kauai Community College.
Students choose a photo of a piece of construction equipment and have to correctly match it with description shown in the photo above. If they matched it correctly, they were eligible to enter a drawing to win a $25 gift card. Click here for a video of the instructions.

Just over 60 students at the CCD event on Kauai got the correct answer. Some already had knowledge of the different pieces of construction equipment; some read the function of said equipment to determine the correct answer; and some just guest. All came away with a better knowledge of the work involved in repaving a road.
