Jon M. Young was nominated by the American Society of Civil Engineers – Hawaii Section and selected by the Hawaii Society of Professional Engineers as the Engineer of the Year because of his proven leadership in all that he does, his technical achievements as a professional engineer, his dedication to promoting and developing the civil engineering profession and his generous giving of time to a variety of community service activities.
As the Executive Director of Hawaii Asphalt Paving Industry, Mr. Young strives to advance and improve the quality of asphalt-paved roads throughout the state. He works closely with architects, engineers and contractors responsible for design and construction of asphalt pavement and pavement treatments.
