Forta Fibers – Informational Workshop

Please join us for a free breakfast meet and greet from 8:00 a.m. to 9:00 a.m. Breakfast will be followed by a presentation by speak Scott Nazar from 9:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m.

HAPI member FORTA will be conducting an educational seminar on the advanced state of the art high tensile strength fiber reinforcement for asphalt pavements. The seminar will be discussing topics such as fiber dosage, fiber usage, how fiber gets mixed at the asphalt plant and the following topics:

Fiber reinforced asphalt pavement
– Provides basic information and discussion on High strength Aramid fiber for asphalt pavements
– Basic information on reducing asphalt thickness and or pavement life extension

Testing and Success Stories
– Review 30 years of research
– Provide information on testing completed by Universities, in the private sector, and international testing.

SPEAKER BIO:

Scott Nazar is the Technical Manager for Forta Corporation Asphalt Division. Scott leads and manages the asphalt team in developing, testing, and researching fiber for pavement reinforcement for FORTA corporation. He helps agencies, municipalities and DOT’s to deliver fiber reinforcement to increase the durability of pavements. Scott has over 20 years of experience in transportation, quality control, and civil engineering, 14 years of which at PennDOT. He has shared his expertise in state of the art knowledge of asphalt pavement in regard to construction management and highway transportation. He is a graduate of Penn State University with a B.S. in Structural Design and Construction Engineering.
